Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to switch between Maya and Mudbox. Facial expressions are an essential part of animation characters. Blend Shapes is one way to achieve these expressions. Blend Shapes can be described as modified versions of geometry (facial geometries in this instance) that depict a specific facial expression or muscle movement. To create facial animation, we can animated transitions between the shapes. These shapes can be created in many ways, but Mudbox works well. We will learn how to create shapes using Sculpt Layers, Sculpt Layer Groups and Sculpt Layers. We will create a collection of smaller shapes, and then combine them into an overall expression. This Maya and Mudbox training will end with an exploration of the Pose tools for creating these shapes. We will also learn how to create Blend Shapes from multiple objects. Software required: Maya 2015, Mudbox 2015.
