Course Description

Lab Details

This lab will teach you how to prevent users from accidentally deleting resources using Azure resource locks.

Duration: 45 minutes

Introduction

What are Azure resource locks and what do they mean?

Azure resource locks protect users from accidentally deleting or modifying critical resources within an organization.

Azure locks are different to role-based access control in that you can apply restrictions across all users or roles using these locks.

Locks can be applied to resource level, subscription level, or resource group level.

There are two types available in Azure:

Cannot delete: This lock can be applied to any resource. The user can still modify or read the resource, but cannot delete it.

ReadOnly: This lock is applied to the resource so that the user can only read it without making any modifications or deletions.
