This course may also be taken as ECEA 5341 for academic credit, which is part of CU Boulder's Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
This is the second course in our specialization of Embedding Sensor and Motors. You should first complete our Sensors and Sensor Circuits course to get the most from this course. This course will give you an overview of the hardware and software development kits we used for the lab exercises. The second course assumes you are familiar with the software and hardware.
You will be able:
* Learn how to specify the correct AC or DC motors for your machine design.
* Add the motor to a machine based on an analysis of motor equations for current, voltage, torque, speed, and torque.
* Combine the motor and rotary sensor in a motor control circuit, both in hardware and software.
* Add a motor and a motor control circuit to a microprocessor-based development kit.
* Create hardware and firmware for processing motor feedback data to a processor for further evaluation.
To complete the course projects that are based on this module's videos, you will need the following components. You don't need to purchase it again if the PSOC 5LPPROTOTYPING KIT has been purchased.
These parts can be ordered from Digikey's website, www. Digikey.com. Digikey.com. You can also obtain the specs on the Digikey.com site and then purchase them elsewhere.
These are part numbers for the table above, which is the lab on Motor Voltage and Current Measurement. These can be copied and pasted into the Digikey search engine. Except for N107-ND AA batteries, you will need one.
