Course Description

KVM basics from scratch with a focus in QEMU, libvirt and Xen. This course will teach you how to use these open-source components and others to build a virtual IT infrastructure. Practical deployment skills are covered, as well as how to secure the virtual infrastructure and manage it. You will also find detailed information about containers. Low-level lab exercises will focus on virtual images, snapshots, deployment, VM maintenance, integration with network infrastructure, device passing-through, and other topics.

Open Source Virtualization focuses on KVM (Kernel Based Virtual Machine) as well as Xen, which are the most widely used hypervisor virtualization technologies within the open-source ecosystem. It also covers the deployment and use containers.
