Course Description

This Introduction to Portfolio Management course will help you understand what portfolio management is and what role portfolio managers play in it. This course introduces concepts linearly and logically. It will help you to understand the process of portfolio management. The firm-side is where the course focuses. You'll be able to answer questions such as: What are traditional portfolio managers? What are their strategies? And what are their investment methods. This knowledge will allow you to see how portfolio managers are different from three perspectives: stakeholder, risk tolerance, investment goals, and investor. The next step is to understand the role of portfolio managers by looking at how portfolios are built, how client mandates are created, and last but not least, how performance is measured.

This course will give you a better understanding about the role of Portfolio Management and help you decide if it is the right career path for you.
