Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to paint textures on ZBrush models. ZBrush is an excellent tool for creating textures for our sculpted model. However, it works differently to other applications. The tutorial will begin by explaining the basics of polypainting, and how it differs to a map-based workflow. As we move through texture painting, we'll use a cool creature sculpture as our project. To achieve different effects, we'll be exploring different brush settings and strokes. Layers will be taught to combine multiple layers of polypaint. To create detail, we'll use custom Alphas. The noise function will enable us to quickly add high-frequency detail. We will also learn about UVs, masking and how to darken the mesh cavities. We'll also learn how to create texture maps using our polypainted model, and then transfer them to other applications. You can have fun with the colors and make your character yours as we go. After you are done, you will have all the information you need to create textures in ZBrush. ZBrush 4R6 software required.
