Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), Coimbatore is a government-aided institute affiliated to Anna University and was established in 1956 by V.Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust with an aim of providing knowledge to the students interested in engineering, technology and science field. Coimbatore Institute of Technology has signed MoU with several national & international organisations such as Sector skills, Texas Tech University, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd & Dr. Fixit Institute of Structural Protection. The institute offers undergraduate courses, integrated M.Sc Courses, Ph.D programmes and postgraduate courses. Coimbatore Institute of Technology has been ranked 102 in NIRF Engineering Ranking 2021. Furthermore, it is accredited with an 'A' grade by the NAAC.
The Coimbatore Institute of Technology boasts of a strong placement network and provides fledgling opportunities for students to land high-paid jobs through its placement cell. Apart from this, in order to motivate students to become more entrepreneurial & innovative, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell has been set up in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad and Innovation Institute- Tamil Nadu. They conduct academic as well as cultural events, conferences, different workshops and development programmes both for faculty as well as students.
