The other accountants within the company report directly to their accounting manager and can go to them for concerns or questions. Customer service and customer service is another major responsibility for the supervisor of accounting. The supervisor receives calls and emails every day from customers, assisting them when they encounter issues, and making sure they get top quality services. If the company is part of an organization larger than itself the accounting supervisor reports to the executive or board of directors regarding the process of the accounting department.

The supervisor of accounting must possess extensive experience in accounting usually five years or more, and previous experience in a managerial or supervisory position.
