Xavier University was established in 2013 as per the provisions of the Xavier University, Odisha Act, 2013. In the year 2021, the Xavier University, Odisha (Amendment) Act 2021 was passed in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, renaming Xavier University as XIM University. The varsity is host to eleven schools: Xavier Institute of Management, School of Human Resource Management, Xavier School of Rural Management, School of Human Settlements, School of Sustainability, School of Communications, School of Commerce, School of Economics, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Xavier Law School, School of Governance and Public Affairs and Xavier Emlyon Business School. XIM University is a private university, recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). XIM University Bhubaneswar is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS). The varsity has been ranked 34 in the management category of NIRF Ranking 2021.
XIM University is a member of the Jesuit Higher Education Association of South Asia JHEASA, Global Jesuit Higher Education Network and International Association of Jesuit Business School IAJBS. The university has various collaborations with other universities such as San Diego State University, Loyola University Chicago, Pennsylvania State University (Unicef India), Fordham University, New York, USA etc. Programmes offered at XIM University for admissions are offered in the fields of business management, human resource management, rural management, sustainability management, communications, economics, commerce, humanities & compassion studies and human settlements.
