A technical account manager provides account management and high-level technical support to project teams and customers. They also mentor and train technical account specialists. As part of their duties, they may regularly visit customers within an assigned area to ensure services are functioning well and advise them of opportunities for additional services and product solutions. They may also coordinate the installation and integration of services for customers.Technical account managers maintain close communication with larger customers, as well as facilitate communication with technical support when necessary. They are responsible for identifying potential areas of concern for customers before they arise. They make recommendations based on their recognizing a customer’s current and future internet technology needs during their continued business relationship.Technical account managers also work as part of an account management team. This team reports to the technical account management director or supervisor. These managers typically work in an office environment as their home base. However, they are often required to make trips to existing and potential clients.
