The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), is a Public institute situated near Vihar Lake in Mumbai. Established in the year 1963 by the government of India and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Earlier known by the name National Institute of Training in Industrial Engineering, it was later changed to its present name National Institute of Industrial Training. The institute offers courses in Management, engineering as well as doctoral-level fellowships. The institute has developed a reputation of premier education and placement records over the years making it one of the most popular colleges in the country. As per NIRF rankings 2021, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering has been ranked 12th in the management category.

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering is located near the Vihar Lake in Powai. Spread over 67 acres of land it is located in one of the biggest cities of the country, Mumbai. It is very well connected to all the regions of the country by road, rail as well as air transports. The NITIE campus is located just 4 km from the IITB campus and it is fairly connected to the city by road. The International Mumbai airport is hardly 7.5 km and will take only a few minutes to reach, the city is well connected through flights with national and international cities of importance. The college well furnished boys hostels at the campus. Students are provided single occupancy rooms. The rooms have attached washrooms for the students. The hostels have 24x7 high speed wi-fi connectivity.
