Course Description

This course may also be taken as ECEA 5702, which is part of CU Boulder's Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

This course will teach you how to create a feedback system that controls a switching converter. The circuit models that were used in the previous courses can be extended to model small-signal AC variations. These models can then be solved to determine the transfer functions of the regulator and converter. The feedback loop is then modeled and analyzed. It can be designed to meet specific requirements, such as bandwidth, output regulation, transient response and rejection of disturbances.

After completing this course, your ability to design and analyze feedback systems for switching regulators will be demonstrated.

This course requires prior completion of Introduction to Power Electronics & Converter Circuits.
