Course Description

Over the last three to four decades, there has been a remarkable transformation in the institutions that make up the modern monetary system. The financial crisis of 2007-2009 was a wakeup call. We need to see a similar evolution in our analytical apparatus and theories used to understand the system. This course was sponsored by the Institute for New Economic Thinking and is intended to help you start the transition to new economic thinking. It will revive and update some old traditions of monetary thought and make them more relevant.
