Getting Started with Data Warehousing and BI Analytics

This course will teach you how to describe various repositories such as data lakes, data marts and data reservoirs and what their uses are. A data warehouse is a large data repository that has been maintained in a consistent quality. Different data repositories can be used in different ways and require different rigor in choosing which data to store. Data warehouses enable business decision making by providing accurate, flexible reporting and data analysis. Data warehouses are one of the most important business intelligence tools available today. Data engineers who succeed in this field must be able to understand them. This course will help you understand how data warehouses provide a single source for data truth that includes both historical and current data. Analytics and business intelligence apps are used by organizations to create data value. After you have had an opportunity to experience the ELT process, get hands-on experience with IBM Cognos' reporting, dashboard and visualization features. Final project: This will allow you to show the skills that you have acquired in each module.
