Introduction to Abnormal Psychology

This course provides an overview of major areas of abnormal psychology. This course is composed of five modules. The first module provides an overview of the field, including discussions about the concept of psychological anomaly, classification and assessment, and the main models used to understand psychological abnormality. The four remaining modules give an overview of the major areas of abnormal psychology. These include mood disorders, anxiety disorders and stress-related disorders as well as schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Each module contains lectures that address symptoms and behavior, epidemiology and causal theories, treatment options, and multicultural findings and considerations.
