Course Description

Learn more about the amazing and practical world of geographic information systems. This course is the first in the GIS, Mapping and Spatial Analysis specialization. It will teach you about the basics of GIS, Mapping and Spatial Analysis. You'll also learn how to use the software, how to create a map using coordinates, how to make a 2-D map from a 3-D Earth. You will be creating your own GIS data using satellite images to trace geographic features for a specific location or theme. This course will provide you with a solid foundation in GIS and mapping that will allow you to work with GIS and succeed in other specializations.
