Course Description

Automobile design and development is not done in one day. Many departments have worked together to create the automobiles currently on the roads. The Hybrid Electric Vehicle, also known as HEV, combines the powertrains of the internal combustion engine propulsion and the electric motor propulsion systems. Hybrid Electric Vehicles can be an important part of the future and present improvement of conventional technologies.

Course content focuses on the technical foundations of electric machines, power electronics and control theory. The course also includes a quick overview of the theories and the first steps towards simulating vehicle power system.

Because MATLAB simulation platform has a wide acceptance by manufacturers and designers, it was chosen for this course. The course is used by most automotive companies as well as electric powertrain R&D organisations. After completing this course, you will be able to increase your understanding of analysis and simulation for motor drive systems in electric vehicles.
