Program ResultsYour car is made up of sheet metal parts that are joined to make a shell. This is the Body in White (BIW) assembly of sheet metal parts. Your car's BIW components include the Roof, Hood and Side doors. These components play an important part in providing your car with structural rigidity as well as aesthetic appeal.
Skill-Lync's Masters Program offers a series of courses that will help you become proficient in the design and development of BIW parts for an automobile. This program includes 6 courses. This program includes a separate course that introduces you to NXCAD, the tool we use. If you wish, this can be your first course.
Next, you will learn the basics of Gap and Flushness. This is an important concept because the automobile body can be made up of many components and could be supplied by multiple manufacturers. For a perfect fit and finish, the final product must be checked.
The Advanced Automotive Body in White Design course provides an overview of current trends in Automotive sheetmetal design. This course explains the basic BiW Design elements and explains their importance to part function, reliability, cost and cost. This course examines modern design methods and emphasizes the importance of determining product end-use requirements in order to create contemporary products. This Masters' course will allow the student to build all the BIW parts of an SUV.
Each part of this course is 20 hours long and includes 6 projects. The first part will comprise of the Hood,Fender,windshield,Roof,Tailgate and Body side of the SUV.
The second section will include the rear and front side doors, floor and frame as well as dash panel, floor and engine compartment.
These two courses will provide you with a solid understanding of the various design elements and design knowledge for first-rate Automotive BiW components.
Next, you will learn how to design the jigs that are required for the production of sheet metal components. This course uses the tool, CATIA.
This final course will give you an in-depth understanding of components' crashworthiness. You have already had a basic understanding of crashworthiness practices in the industry. But this course gives you a deeper understanding, and hands-on approach, to how it is done virtually with Hypermesh and Radioss.
This program will prepare you to take on multiple roles in BIW development and design after completion.
