Course Description

What is the best way to create nanostructures 10,000 times smaller that human hair? What can be done to aseea the nano-scale This course will provide instruction as well as lab demonstrations. It will give you a deep understanding of how nanotechnology tools work and show you how to use them for fabrication and characterisation at nanoscales. Nanoscale technology is where design becomes reality. We will teach you the skills and knowledge necessary to turn your ideas for nanotechnology into reality and enable you to create images at the nanoscale. This course has been developed by faculty and staff experts in nano-fabrication, electron beam microscopy, and nano-characterization through the Research Triangle Nanotechnology Network (RTNN). Through the United States National Nanotechnology Coordinated Initiative program, the RTNN provides training and access to the tools shown in the course. Through the RTNN, the public can access the tools shown in the course.
