Course Description

This fascinating course is based on strong theoretical foundations and teaches you the basics of wealth management and finance - including diversification and risk and return, market efficiency, and how to grow wealth over time. Both traditional finance theories and more recent developments in financial market will be covered. Learn about asset classes like stocks and bonds, as well as financial instruments like derivatives. Learn about the fundamental principles of finance, including compound interest, time value of money and investment risk, as well as modern portfolio theory. You'll also learn about the history and role of central banks in an economy, as well as the dynamics of market crashes and negative interest rates. The Hanken School of Economics was founded in 1909 and is one of the oldest management and business schools in Scandinavia. It has been awarded three international awards which only 1% of business schools worldwide hold: EQUIS (AACSB, AMBA) and EQUIS (Equis). It is a great place to take courses in finance and wealth management, thanks to strong connections to both the academic and private sectors.

The course offers the rare opportunity to learn from Dr Bjrn Waldorfs, who was once a professor at Hanken, and is the Chairman of UPM Kymmene and Sampo Group. Dr Wahlroos, a former Chairman at Hanken and Nordea, Scandinavia's largest bank, has also written three books about finance and economics.
