Security challenges in today's interconnected world are increasingly complicated. Globalization and the rise of hyper-connected and networked technologies have made it easier to create new security and safety challenges that impact all levels. This course introduces you to security and safety in an ever-changing world. We will work together to answer important questions such as: What is safety and security? What can be done to understand modern security and safety issues? How can we address such problems? The course integrates scholarly inquiry across multiple disciplines, including terrorism studies, crisis management and medical science, with real-life case studies to help you understand and solve complex security and safety issues.
