Course Description

This course teaches learners how to design and operate most common power converters. The simulations of power converters can also be demonstrated with MATLAB Simulink or LTSpice. This course covers circuit design from an analytical perspective to practical application.

  • Simulation and analysis of DC/DC Converters. DC/AC Inverters. AC/DC Rectifiers
  • Guidelines for the use of simulation & design tools to gain Industrial Knowledge based on learned concepts
  • Development of simulation models for isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converter circuits, and their control
  • SPICE simulation using Tina and LTSpice of power converter circuits
  • Applications: Electric Vehicle Chargers and Electrical Vehicle Drivetrains, Solar Inverters, Solar Inverters.
