Course Description

R is an excellent tool for spatial analysis. The new sf package makes vector analysis in R easy. You no longer need to do spatial analysis in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. Or convert your results into another system. Now you can move all your spatial analysis workflows into R. Learn how buffering, spatial joins, and computing intersections are used to geoprocess vectors. It will be possible to simplify distance measurement. Raster can be used to reclassify, crop, mask, extract and crop data. The last chapter of this course will teach you how to create R maps using the ggplot2 and tmap packages. This chapter also shows you how to do a mini-analysis which combines all your new skills.
