Course Description

As cities face increasing population growth and climate change, sustainable mobility is an important goal for city planners. This urban mobility management course will teach you how to create a sustainable urban mobility strategy (SUMPS), that is financially sound, aligned with a city's overall strategy, legacy, and that considers the interests of all stakeholders. Sustainable urban mobility planning will be considered in the larger context of a city’s overall needs. You'll also consider how SUMPS can be integrated with the city's future plans. You will take a holistic approach when planning for sustainability. SUMPS should be aligned with the city's ambitions to attract investment, commerce, and industry.

Learn the best practices and tools to deal with the diverse interests and logics of different stakeholders. You will learn how to deal with different trends and initiatives while planning an urban transformation strategy. Understanding the importance of SUMPS is essential for increasing a city’s attractiveness, competitiveness, and sustainability. You will understand the importance of sustainable mobility planning as an integrated strategic approach to the overall development and growth of a city by the end of this course.
