Course Description

As the future of healthcare, digital health is quickly becoming a reality. This is putting emphasis on the quality of health data input into digital records and systems. However, safe and high-quality healthcare requires not only the input of data but also the ability access and deduce meaning from data to generate evidence, inform decisions, and drive better outcomes.

This course will provide insight into healthcare data and give you an overview of best practices. It also explains how to obtain useful information from digital systems. As they follow a series of steps through the data lifecycle, learners will learn why quality data is so important in modern healthcare. They will be guided through the discovery and extraction of knowledge from data using common methods and tools for basic analysis, visualisation, and communication. Learners will also be able to explore the current healthcare delivery system and the future digital health data systems and apps that are quickly becoming tomorrow's reality. You will be able: You will be able to identify digital health technologies and health data sources. Also, you will understand the changing roles of the health workforce in digital environments. Understanding key terms and concepts in health data, including data integrity and stakeholder roles throughout the data lifecycle.
