KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (KAHER) is Deemed to be University (formerly known as KLE University). KAHER was established in 2006 as per the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, The Institute is recommended by the University Grants Commission. It was founded by KLE society, which was founded in 1916. The institute has 1000 bed Dr.Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital and three Primary Health Centres and one urban Health Centre, which offers services free of cost and these centres are used for training, teaching and research for undergraduate and postgraduate students of KAHER. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Ayurveda, Hotel Management, Music, Biostatistics, Psychology and Public Health. In NIRF 2021 ranking, the university has been ranked 91 in the university category.
