Course Description

Learn the history, present, and future causes of climate change

This online course is free and provides the foundation for understanding the physical processes that govern climate variations in the present, future, and past.

This course will explore the main external forces mechanisms, such as the sun, volcanoes and changes in greenhouse gases and aerosols. These can all contribute to the global energy budget changing and causing climate variations.

In order to understand regional variations of climate, you will also need to consider the role and energy transport in the atmosphere or ocean.

You'll gain a deep understanding of the complex climate system and be able put recent man-made climate changes in context of natural past changes.

Experts from The University of Bergen will help you uncover the TRUE causes of climate changes. They are home to the Bjerknes Center for Climate Research, which is the largest centre for natural science-based research on climate in Scandinavia.
