Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) was established in the year 2015 by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). IIPH Gandhinagar is a private university situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Government of Gujarat and the Public Health Foundation of India signed an MoU for the establishment of IIPHG. The foundation stone was laid in 2008 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The IIPH Gandhinagar started operation in 2008 from a temporary location in Ahmedabad.
In 2015 the permanent campus in Gandhinagar was inaugurated and it was granted university status. IIPH Gandhinagar has been recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). The IIPHG campus is spread over an area of 50 acres of land.
