Maharshi Dayanand University (M.D.U.), Rohtak was established in 1976 under an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. M.D.U. is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The campus spreads over 622 acres of land. Around 263 colleges/institutes in 7 districts of Haryana are affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University. Currently, M.D.U. is offering undergraduate courses (B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., B.S.W., B.Voc., BCA, B.Ed., BBA, BTTM, LL.B., B.A.LL.B., B.P.Ed.), postgraduate courses (M.Sc., M.A., M.Com., M.P.Ed., MTTM, MCA, M.Arch., M.Tech., MBA), diploma courses (D.P.Ed., Journalism and Mass Communication, Rehabilitation Psychology, Fashion Designing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Yoga Science) etc to the students. The university has been ranked 31st in the pharmacy category and 78 rank in the University category in the NIRF 2021 rankings.
