Course Description

This course will help you answer the "big questions" about accounting. You'll first see how the balance sheet (and income statement) are created to answer these questions. Next, you will learn how transactions add up to create these financial statements. Once you have a good understanding of financial statements and accounting, you can begin to understand the individual parts of business. You will be able to understand accounting by looking at common business actions. Then you can apply these concepts to different types of transactions. These concepts will help you to understand the financial statements in detail and to use them as information tools.

This course can be taken as a standalone, or you may qualify for the residential portion of the Finance for Strategic Decision-Making Executive Education program. See the FAQ for more information.
