Course Description

This course covers accounting for business combinations (ASC805) and preparation of consolidated financial reports (ASC810). Other related topics include step-by-step acquisition and deconsolidation, segment reporting and the goodwill impairment testing. The course starts with an overview of ASC 805's scope and differences between asset acquisitions and business combinations. The course then examines the measurement principles and recognition principles for the acquisition method to account business combinations. Next, we will cover the consolidation process. The course will teach you how to prepare the consolidation financial statements and all the adjustments required for them.
