Augmented Reality Animation: Give Yourself Super Powers!

Augmented reality is a new phenomenon that has attracted a lot of interest and intrigue online. I decided to learn the techniques needed to create an augmented video.

It all began after I saw the Google doodle for Women's Day 2016. The animations over the footage helped to tell the story of each woman featured in the video. It is available here.

Shortly after Women's Day 2016, I saw the amazing use of augmenting real life and created a similar video to my sister's Wedding Invitation. The animation told the story of their love, their interests, and when and where they would get married.

This course will share the techniques I used in creating this Augmented Reality video. Adobe Flash, Premiere Pro, and After Effects were the programs I used to create this video. However, you can use any other software that has similar capabilities. Synfig Studio could be used in place of Flash.

What You Will Learn:

There are many tutorials that show how to animate in Flash or how to edit videos using Premiere. However, there isn’t one that combines all the necessary skills to create your Augmented Reality video. This class combines all of the resources and skills I used to create my Augmented Reality Video.

These are the topics we will be covering:

• Storyboarding. The blueprint for your video.
• How to direct your "actors". How to direct your "actors"
• Base Video Editing. This is how I will show you how to edit videos so that your animation lines pop out in your scenes.
• Exporting and Importing. Learn how to export and import your edited video file into the animator.
• Animation. I will show you how to animate your edited footage to create Augmented Reality.
• Exporting and Publishing. We will then move on to the export of the animation and the creation of the entire video in After Effects.

What you'll Do:

You will create your Augmented Reality video from scratch. We will create a short animation in which you will show off one of your Super Powers. The lessons learned in this class will allow you to create an Augmented Reality Animation that is full length for any project or idea.
