Course Description

Many mechanical engineers dream of working in design after graduation. Students are often unable to find work due to the gap between what they learn in college and what the industry expects of them. This gap can be bridged by students learning industry-standard software, and then working on multiple projects that use the software to demonstrate the skills of potential employers.
CATIA is a widely used design program today. CATIA can be used in many different ways. CATIA can be used to design products, as well as manufacturing tools, wiring harness and mold design. CATIA is easier to use than newer design software, and it has been updated many times throughout its long history. Top OEMs in all industries consider CATIA to be a minimum requirement. This includes shipbuilding, aerospace, automotive and heavy machinery.

Skill-Lync, with inputs from academicians and industry experts, created this course - basics CATIA to bridge the skills gap between students and employers. Students will learn the basics of CATIA, as well as the different workbench options within the software. The course will continue with 10+ industry-relevant projects. Students will be able to create sketches, 3D model and surface models as well as creating assemblies using the various parts and final drafting.

Students will not only be studying the lectures but also working on assignments models related to each week's content. Along with the course projects, students will also be working in industry-relevant models that are not covered in class. These projects will provide students with additional information and practice in the industry.
