Course Description

Cloud Composer is a pipeline orchestration service available on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It was launched in May 2018 and is based on the Apache Airflow API. This service allows users to build and execute complex, interconnected pipelines. In this course, Building Pipelines to Workflow Orchestration using Google Composer, you will learn how to use Composer to create and deploy pipelines.

First, you will understand where Composer fits in the GCP taxonomy and how it compares to Dataflow. Dataflow is another GCP service that enables pipeline creation and execution. Then, you will explore what a Composer environment looks like and how pipelines can be specified and run within these environments.

The course will also cover how to use the Airflow operators within Composer. These operators allow you to execute shell scripts, run Python code, and implement complex control flows. Additionally, you will learn about Airflow's GCP-specific operators, such as sending emails, working with BigQuery, and creating Dataproc clusters.

By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills to create and deploy sophisticated pipelines using the Apache Airflow API through Composer. This will enable you to efficiently manage your workflow orchestration needs on GCP.

In summary, Cloud Composer is a powerful tool for pipeline orchestration on GCP. It offers the ability to create complex pipelines and execute them seamlessly. By taking this course, you will gain a deep understanding of Composer's capabilities and be able to leverage them effectively in your own projects.
