Capturing the Essence of a Character in Photoshop

This series of lessons will teach you how to capture the essence and personality of a character from their backstory, then create a final character concept. This will be the first step in our journey. We'll start by looking at our character bio and learning more about our character. We will review the information provided and then we will begin to learn about the key areas necessary for capturing our character's essence. We will discuss the importance of her pose, hairstyle, wardrobe, and anatomy. After some brief explorations of each area, we will begin painting our final character design from start to finish. You should be able to come up with great ideas for creating more appealing and effective character designs after completing this course. Adobe Photoshop CS5 or higher is required.
