Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to create a custom fontface using Illustrator and FontForge. First, we'll define the typeface that we need and how it should look. Next, we will begin to sketch out our glyphs using Photoshop. After we are satisfied with our sketches, we will transition to vector using Illustrator. The Pen tool will be used to draw the shapes of our glyphs, and then prepare them for the Font Editor. Once we have a feel for FontForge, we will import our vector glyphs into FontForge and make adjustments. Once we are satisfied with the glyphs that we have created, we will learn how to use FontForge to export them as OpenType fonts. This Illustrator and FontForge training will give you a solid understanding of how to create your own brush script and slab serif. Software required: Illustrator CC 2015, Photoshop CC 2015, FontForge.
