Course Description

This Illustrator tutorial will show you how to use Illustrator's features and tools to create your templates. A template allows for customization and collaboration with other people in your company. Anyone can open a template and make changes or updates without having to save the original template. In this example, we will create a business card. We'll first establish the dimensions of our art board and discuss the importance to have a bleed. We'll then learn how to create crop marks for printing, and how to make sure our logo and text are safe. We'll also learn how to save our business card as an example. In our second example, we will create a template to make a postcard. This template will have specific guidelines regarding the placement of text. We'll also learn how to use the transform and alignment options to layout our templates precisely. We'll end this Illustrator training by talking about some settings that you should consider when exporting your template to PDF. You'll be able create your templates after watching this tutorial. Software required: Illustrator CC 17.1.0.
