Hello everyone welcome to my latest class! Jen Lezan is my teacher for this course.
I'm back this month with another Affinity Publisher class that focuses on physical planning and productivity-related printables. You can see, I love planning. Planning allows me to combine my love for organization with my graphic design background to create some amazing productivity printables that I sell on Etsy. I also use them in my day to organize my family's life.
If you enjoy planning, make sure to check out my previous classes on how you can design planner stickers and digital planning courses such as how to create your digital stickers for digital plan and how to make a planner in Affinity Publisher or Affinity Designer.
I want to share with you my process for creating digital bullet journal-style printables that can be used as a paper planner. These products are available for purchase online. However, you can also use them as a personal project. Bullet journaling is something I like, but it can be time-consuming to create all the gorgeous layouts by hand. I found a solution to this problem by using Affinity Publisher.
I wanted to share my knowledge and tips to help you create a productivity printable you can customize to suit your needs. Affinity Publisher makes it a lot easier as you don’t have to erase like you would if designing these spreads by hand. You can simply undo! This is a great asset that you can use to give away for email sign-ups or sell as downloadables on digital marketplaces like Creative Market. It is easy to make and can be reused multiple times or sold repeatedly.
What is the class about
This class is a step beyond just showing you how to design a composition using Affinity Publisher. I also want to share some of my theories about what constitutes "good" composition. We will start this class by going over some basic tips and tricks for good composition and layout. As you create more printables, ideas will become more natural. These design principles will allow you to communicate your ideas visually more effectively. Next, we'll dive into the basics and functionality of Affinity Publisher.
These are some of the skills students will be able to learn
This tutorial will teach you how to use Affinity Publisher to create a bullet journal-style planner printable. We will create a printable, keeping in mind the basics and composition of design. You can customize it to your liking or sell it in your own shop.
Affinity Publisher is my favorite tool for creating printables. It's so easy to create precise shapes and space them evenly, align elements, and use multiple spreads and masters spreads to design. This class is a great way to improve your layout design skills and become more familiar with Affinity Publisher. You will be designing the class project as you go through the basics of creating in the program.
As I mentioned, we will begin with the basics of understanding design principles in relation to composition and layout. Next, we'll dive into Affinity Designer basics. The tool bars and functions of Affinity Publisher workspace will be covered. Next, we will create our bullet journal-style planner printable. We will show you how to create basic layouts, pages, and understand the layers function. We will then export your file so that you can print it at home. We will then discuss some tips for setting up your file to be used on digital marketplaces such as Creative Market or Etsy. You will need to make changes to your final printable in order to sell it.
To make things easier, I will include the class project affinity publisher template you can edit and get familiar with before you start yours. You can also download a PDF and JPEG versions of the file for your personal use. You can also check out my other planner printable products on Etsy: Bella + Sophia Creative, or visit me on Creative Market. You can also visit my Pinterest board link to find tons of bullet journal-style printable inspiration.
You only need a computer with Affinity Publisher installed to take this class. You should also have access to paper and a printer in order to print your final design.
