Introduction

What is Amazon Macie?

Amazon Macie uses machine learning and pattern matching to protect sensitive data stored within S3 buckets.

It can detect a variety of data types, including PII (Personally identifiable information), such as names, addresses and credit card numbers.

It also detects data and gives you full visibility to your S3 buckets. This includes information such as publicly accessible buckets and unencrypted buckets.

Amazon Macie offers a free 30-day trial that allows you to evaluate your bucket.

The discovery of sensitive data in S3 buckets is not included in the free trial.
