* How do I find out more?
You can use econometrics to convert data into models that allow you to forecast and support decision-making in many fields. These include finance, marketing, and macroeconomics. The course begins with an introduction to simple and multiple regression. Next, we will discuss topics that are of particular interest, such as model specification, endogenous variable, binary option data and time series data. These key concepts in econometrics can be learned by taking in-video quizzes or by doing post-video training exercises.
* What prior knowledge do I require?
This course can be used by advanced undergraduate students who are interested in finance, economics, engineering and data analysis as well as those working in these areas. You will need to know the basics of probability and statistics. These are covered in the Building Blocks module. * Which literature is available to help me with my studies?
The MOOC can be followed without having to read additional materials. * Are there teaching assistants available to help me navigate the course?
Our Econometric Institute staff and students will offer guidance during January and February each year. We provide no guidance during other times. To discuss subjects and complete exercises, we recommend that you connect with other learners in this course.
* What is the best way to get a certificate
You will need to complete six test exercises (one for each module) as well as a case project in order to earn the certificate. You also have to peer review the work of three other MOOC learners. If you complete all seven tasks, the certificate is yours.
