Course Description

This series of 3ds Max tutorials will cover the concepts, techniques and tools required to model props, environments, or sets. It is crucial to create realistic environments, props, sets, and models when building computer-generated models for broadcast, games, or film. The environment is what sets the scene for the story and can include hundreds of assets that are organized into many pieces. Environment models and props are easier to work with because they don't need to be deformed. However, they do have their challenges. This course will discuss some of the specific challenges that modelers face when they first start. We will discuss the different methods of modeling and how they affect the workflow. We will also discuss cleaning assets and organizing our scenes. Modifiers and breaking down repetitive objects into manageable parts are just a few of the modeling tips we'll cover. You'll be able to create and dress your own environments models and sets by the end of this course. Software required: 3ds max 2013.
