Course Description

ESG investing is moving towards a global standard. Some initiatives, such as the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, have already prompted significant changes in the financial markets.

This specialization's title suggests that financial decisions made by investors and capital deployments by companies, organizations and governments have been changing in the face of increasing attention to governance, environmental, and social issues.

Students with basic knowledge of traditional financial products (e.g. stocks, bonds and exchange-traded funds) will have a solid understanding of how ESG investing principles were developed and how they relate to analytical strategies and governing frameworks.

You'll also learn about the benefits and drawbacks Big Data as a complement for fundamental analysis and how developments in data science (NLP, machine learning, sentiment analysis algorithms) may be used to provide actionable accountability.

Further, you will be able to explain why ESG investing is still a work in process and outline some of the anticipated developments for its future.

We are looking forward to having you join us!
