Course Description

Storm is a distributed computing platform that you can plug into Azure Event Hubs to use for event stream processing. Storm can be scaled to process tens to thousands of events per second. It also allows you to create a reliable workflow that ensures every event will be processed. HBase, a No-SQL database that can store billions of rows and millions upon millions of columns, is simple to use. It can be used for real-time data access. The REST interface allows you to read and write HBase data using a.NET Storm application. Hive, a data warehouse, provides an SQL-like interface over Big Data (HBase tables and other sources) Hive allows you to join multiple sources and execute queries using PowerShell or.NET. This course will use all three technologies that run on Microsoft Azure to create a race timing solution. We also dive into reliability, performance tuning, administration.
