This course will cover everything you need to get started with Mudbox 2012. This course will give you a complete overview of Mudbox, the powerful texture painting and sculpting application. We'll start by looking at the Mudbox interface. Then we will discuss the basics of using Mudbox geometry. We'll discuss how to get geometry into Mudbox and how to transform it around the scene. Then we will move on to the painting and sculpting tools using a project-based approach. We will also make our own Vector Displacement Maps, which we can use for sculpting. We'll discuss how to change the properties of our tools to achieve different results, and how to use stencils and stamps to create different looks. We'll cover some Mudbox presentation features and then move onto painting textures. We'll be discussing the Mudbox paint layer functionality, as well as new features like layer masks and uv-less PTEX printing. We'll also discuss the Pose tools as well as painting opacitymaps for our meshes. The last part of the course will be about Mudbox integration with other programs like Photoshop, Maya and 3ds Max. You will learn all about Mudbox through this course using a project-based approach. After you've completed these lessons, it will be possible to apply what you've learned to your own work. Mudbox 2012 or higher is required.
