Course Description

Many artists find the process of creating UVs tedious and time-consuming. Headus UVLayout makes it easy to create UVs. We'll start by learning how to add our geometry, navigate around it and customize UVLayout. We will then dive in to learn how to take our geometry apart and drop it into UVView. Then we'll flatten it and optimize it. It's only natural that after we have learned how to cut things, we will also learn how to put them back together. This is as simple as cutting them apart. We will then learn how to fix potential problems during flattening by manipulating individual points within our mesh. This course will cover symmetry, snapping, stacking, packing, and copying UVs between pieces of geometry. We'll also learn about the tools in UVLayout, which will allow us to quickly create UV maps for our hard-surface models. You should feel confident enough to jump into Headus UVLayout after completing this course and create UVs quickly for your models.
