Course Description

This class is for anyone who is interested in visual storytelling.

Storyboarding is the art of organizing a story visually. It's a valuable skill for creating films, comics and illustrations, as well as business plans and essays. Every successful project has a good story!

What You Will Learn

  • Understanding Storyboarding. What is Storyboarding? How does one approach it? What are the most important tools?
  • Your Story Idea. Finding a story that is unique to you and "gutsy".
  • Researching Your Subject. You will be asked to locate images, documents, or other information that can inspire you about your subject.
  • Exploring and Structuiring your Ideas. This will help you create a blueprint for your story in its most basic form.
  • Creating Your Ideas. Create your storyboard so that it conveys your story exactly the way you want.

What You Will Make

The project guide I created will be used to storyboard a story about your life. It can be anything, from a childhood memory to something that happened while driving to work today.

Storyboarding is my daily job as a Walt Disney Studios story artist.
