Course Description

This course will show you how to use MDX for querying an Analysis Services multidimensional data base. The course begins by introducing the language and showing how it can be used to develop a cube. It also introduces important concepts like tuples, sets, and other terms. The course then covers how to structure queries, and how to create sets for use on query axis. The course continues by exploring the many navigation functions that can be used to traverse hierarchical information. It then explains how to create more complicated queries using calculated measures, calculated member, and named set calculations. Although this course was designed for SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (the majority of the principles are applicable to SQL Server 2005 or later),
