Course Description

Ptex is a popular topic in texturing. It is easy to avoid the tedious task of creating UVs for your assets. This tutorial in Mudbox and Maya will focus on Mudbox painting textures. First, we'll learn how to create our geometry and materials. Then, we will also learn how to lighten the texture. We'll then walk you through the process of creating a diffuse map for your creature. Next, we will create a specular map and then an incandescence one. We'll finish the course by learning how to import our Ptex textures into Maya so that they can be rendered. You'll feel confident and comfortable using Ptex to texture and render with Mudbox or Maya by the end of this Maya and Mudbox training. Software required: Maya 2015, Mudbox 2015.
