Course Description

It's the holiday season! Now is the time to start thinking about gifts and how to present them.

Evgeniya Rigini-Brand is my name and I will be showing you how to make origami boxes from a sheet of paper in just a few steps. This is an easy, yet versatile method for making origami boxes. They are great for packaging small gifts and can also be used as desk decorations or trinket boxes.

This class will teach you

  • How to fold paper into boxes
  • How to calculate the box sizes and proportions
  • How to make complementary lids and inserts
  • What types of paper and cards should you use to make original boxes?
  • What extra touches can you add to make your boxes stand out?

Materials:

  • Use 90gsm origami paper or 90gsm for your practice;
  • For durable boxed packaging, use 120-200gsm card or paper (please see Paper Ideas video for more information).

Tools:

  • ruler;
  • pencil;
  • craft knife;
  • Optional: Cutting mat
  • scissors.
