Course Description

It can be confusing and complicated to manage assets in a game. Even for small projects it can be difficult and time-consuming to maintain consistency across multiple levels of assets. Unity allows you to save prefabricated objects (or "Prefabs") to help you with this task. This project will show you how Prefabs can be used to your advantage. We will create a simple "capsulebot" from primitive objects and then explore how prefabs with overrides, a special prefab mode and special prefab modes make asset-duplication easy and reconfiguration simple. Next, we will explore prefab variants. These inherit from a parent prefab and nested prefabs are compound objects made up of many child-prefabs. This guided project does not require any coding.
